SERVPRO's Storm Team is Prepared to Help
7/8/2022 (Permalink)
June of 2022 broke several records for temperature highs throughout the country this year. Experts believe this is only the beginning of what will surely be a very hot summer. In cities across the south records are being broken for consecutive days of low temperatures staying over 80 degrees where no relief from heat can be found, even at night. This prolonged drought and high heat are setting up many of these areas for flash floods if and when rains do come. This is because the hardened, dry ground will not be able to absorb water quickly enough if a large rain or tropical storm were to sweep through states like Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia. Large rain events in these areas are not uncommon during hurricane season. In fact, over the past few years it has been slow moving tropical storms and hurricanes carrying tons of moisture that have caused the most property damage to homes and commercial properties in the United States. There is little people can do to prepare for these types of storms other than to listen to their local authorities and be ready to move if a home or commercial property is in the path of storms or flooding. Of course if damage does occur we will be available to help. Our team of experienced storm management and disaster restoration technicians are prepared for when the next big storm comes to New England, New York, or anywhere in the country if we are called to help!
